ABSTRACT: Early childhood education (ECE) significantly impacts the development of ethical decision-making among young children, which is crucial for their moral and social growth. This study examines how ECE programs influence ethical decision-making. The objectives are to (1) assess the ethical decision-making abilities of children in ECE programs, (2) evaluate the effectiveness of decision-making activities in ECE settings, and (3) compare the ethical decision-making skills of children who attend ECE programs with those who do not. A survey design was employed to gather quantitative data on ethical decision-making and qualitative insights from educators and parents. A purposive sample of 130 children  from preschools in Ebonyi State was selected. The case study focuses on preschools with comprehensive decision-making programs. Findings revealed that children in ECE programs exhibited better ethical decision-making skills compared to those not in such programs. Decision-making activities were found to be particularly effective. Recommendations include integrating decision-making activities into ECE curricula and providing resources for educators to effectively teach ethical decision-making.
